We stayed awake last night, and this morning around 6:30am, Johnny and I put on rain gear and ventured outside in the early morning rain. I brought my camera, and after we grabbed a coffee, we walked over to a little park area. I was really enjoying the warm rain, and I wanted to try to translate the morning into photography.

Tonight, the sky keeps lighting up with sheet lightning and the sounds of thunder murmur in the distance. Ahh, I love the electric charges in the sky; they make me feel so vibrant and alive.
This is the longest that it has thundered here in a while. Usually, it’s just a couple of times and everything’s over. But this has been going on for quite some well. Nothing too intense, just constant. I love the smell of rain lingering in the warm air. Listening to Bon Iver’s new album as well and going to drink some peppermint tea. An atmospheric first night of summer.
Leaving soon to drive three hours by myself up to Lindsay. Feeling like a lonesome traveler this morning, making it a new goal to pack as little as possible. Soon I’ll be feeling the familiar highway lines and taking the voyage back to where I used to spend my years. Except shifted. It will be lovely to spend time with my father. It’s been far too long since I’ve been able to hang out with him.
